This mama dog had been someone's pet until she got pregnant; then she was dropped off to wander the streets looking for a place to have her babies. Fortunately, she was found wandering and taken in by a wonderful animal lover named Pam. Pam cared for "Palomino" and the seven babies, born a few days later.
When the puppies were about two weeks old, the administrator of the gated community where Pam lived had the puppies removed from the premises and dumped in the desert to fend for themselves! Normally, that would have been the sad end to this story.
Outraged that someone could be so cruel to this sweet, loving dog and her newborn puppies, Pam searched the desert every day for a week, refusing to allow the Mama and her babies suffer and die. Refusing to give up, Pam finally found the mama and puppies, all alive. The puppies were healthy; Mom was dehydrated, tired, but otherwise okay.
By the first week in November, the pups were four weeks old, safe, and living with Pam. Palomino is a very sweet, well-behaved girl and very good with people. She appears to be part Dingo (her eyes) and she is the color of an Irish setter. She will be spayed and ready for adoption soon.
Please, help Pam create a happy ending for this "survivor." With your help we can find her a home where she's wanted and loved.
If you would like to adopt, please call Pam at 818 707 3991 (U.S.) or her cell phone here in Mexico 044-622-123-3149.
